HEARING AID STYLES

Behind-The-Ear (BTEs)

The most common type of hearing aids. The hearing aid rests behind the ear, and a tube enters the ear canal. Generally, gives the most amplification.

Completely-In-Canal (CICs)

Almost completely invisible hearing aids, these fit completely in the ear canal and are custom designed based on the shape of the ear. Less likely of picking up outside wind noise and gives a comfortable listening experience.

In-The-Canals (ITCs)

This is also a custom-designed hearing aid based on the shape of the ear. The hearing aid fits smoothly in the outer part of the ear. ITCs are generally easier to handle than CICs especially for people with ‘shaky’ hands because of its larger size.

Receiver-In-Canal (RICs)

The speaker or receiver of the hearing aid is fitted directly into the ear canal and give a comfortable listening experience. RICs are usually more stylish and sleeker than regular BTEs. These are available as both, battery-operated and rechargeable hearing aids.
