CHOOSE A FRAME

With the different materials, brands, colors and shapes available, choosing a frame can be little overwhelming. Our team of opticians/optometrists are happy to help you to choose your perfect eyewear.

FIND THE FRAME THAT FITS YOUR LIFESTYLE

Full - Rim

These are made of plastic, metal or a combination of both. Full-rim frames cover the entire lens and can give more protection and durability compared to the other lens types. This frame type is especially recommended for those with stronger prescriptions.

Half-rim

These frames have a metal rim on the top half and the bottom half is rimless. These are usually less noticeable and ‘sleeker’ compared to full-rim frames. These also give a more ‘minimalist’ look.

Rimless

These do not have a rim and have to be handled with great care due to the lack of protection. Rimless frames give an almost ‘invisible’ look and do not distract the wearer’s facial features. May not be suitable for all prescriptions.

CHOOSE A LENS

D.S. Jayasinghe Opticians also offer the most widely used spectacle lens brands in the world. Depending on your visual needs, lifestyle and budget, our team will help guide you to choose the most suitable lens type.

Blue Light Protection Lenses

Designed for modern digital lifestyles, blue light protection lenses help reduce the impact of screen exposure from computers, smartphones, and artificial lighting. By minimizing glare and visual stress, these lenses support greater comfort during extended screen use. They are especially suitable for office professionals, students, and anyone who spends long hours on digital devices, helping maintain focus while reducing eye discomfort.

Photochromic (Photo Grey) Lenses

Photochromic lenses automatically adapt to changing light conditions. When exposed to sunlight, they darken to reduce brightness and glare, and indoors they return to a clear state. This smart adjustment provides consistent visual comfort and UV protection throughout the day, making them ideal for people who frequently move between indoor and outdoor environments.

UV Protection Coating

UV-protective coatings help shield your eyes from harmful ultraviolet rays that can cause long-term eye damage. This invisible layer does not alter lens clarity or appearance, yet plays an important role in preserving eye health. Suitable for everyday wear, UV protection is particularly beneficial for those exposed to sunlight during outdoor activities.

Scratch-Resistant Coating

Scratch-resistant coatings add durability to your lenses, helping them withstand daily handling and minor impacts. By reducing surface damage, this coating helps maintain clear vision and extends the lifespan of your eyewear. It is a practical option for active individuals or anyone seeking long-lasting lens performance.

High-Index Lens Technology

High-index lenses are engineered to be slimmer and lighter while delivering accurate vision correction, even for stronger prescriptions. Their reduced thickness enhances comfort and provides a more refined appearance. Additional protective treatments improve durability, making these lenses a reliable and comfortable solution for long-term use.

ADDED LENS FEATURES

Anti-Reflective Coating

This coating allows more light to pass through the lens, giving a clearer look of your eyes and
reduces annoying light reflections on your lens. It can also enhance your vision through those
lenses since more light is reaching your eyes and can improve your overall eye comfort.

Photochromic Lenses

Your clear lenses will turn dark automatically when you step out into the sunlight. These lenses
will protect your eyes from harmful UV rays while giving you a more comfortable vision in the
sun light and reduce eye strain. Recommended to those who wear spectacles the whole day,
photochromic lenses can give you comfortable vision throughout the day.

Blue Light Filtering Lenses

An eye protection feature that helps to block the harmful blue-violet rays emitted from
computers and other digital devices and let the essential light pass through to the eye.
Beneficial to those who use digital devices such as computers, laptops or tablet computers
regularly.

Polarized lenses

This lens coating filters light and reduces glare. It will give you a more comfortable vision when
you are outdoors in bright sunlight and can help to reduce eyestrain. Recommended to those
who spend a lot of time outdoors and those who are sensitive to sunlight glare.
